Adult ADHD Care Throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware

ADHD does not always look like obvious hyperactivity.

Adults often seek evaluation because of long-standing difficulties with:

  • Focus

  • Chronic procrastination

  • Starting tasks

  • Completing tasks

  • Organization

  • Working memory

  • Managing time

  • Prioritizing

  • Following through

  • Missing deadlines

  • Managing multiple responsibilities

  • Maintaining routines

  • Feeling mentally overwhelmed

  • Inconsistent productivity

These difficulties can occur for many reasons.

ADHD is one possibility, but anxiety, depression, sleep problems, chronic stress, medical conditions, substance use, medication effects, and other concerns may also affect attention and executive functioning.

That is why adult ADHD diagnosis involves a broader clinical evaluation rather than relying on one questionnaire or computerized test.

Two Adult ADHD Evaluation Pathways

Adults seek ADHD evaluations for different reasons.

Some want diagnostic answers and plan to continue ADHD treatment with ADHD Philadelphia.

Others primarily need a comprehensive standalone diagnostic evaluation and expect their ongoing care to occur elsewhere.

ADHD Philadelphia offers two options.

Pathway 1 — ADHD Evaluation + Ongoing Care

$300 Total Initial Evaluation

This pathway is intended for adults who want an ADHD evaluation and plan to establish ongoing ADHD treatment with ADHD Philadelphia when continued care is clinically appropriate.

The initial evaluation consists of:

$150 — Initial ADHD Consultation

The consultation may review:

  • Current ADHD symptoms

  • Childhood and developmental history

  • Functional impairment

  • Executive-function difficulties

  • Work or academic functioning

  • Mental health history

  • Medical history

  • Sleep

  • Current medications

  • Substance-use considerations

  • Relevant differential diagnoses

$150 — ADHD Testing & Results Appointment

Testing, standardized questionnaires, clinical findings, and other relevant information are integrated with the broader diagnostic evaluation.

Results and diagnostic findings are reviewed with you.

Total initial evaluation: $300

Ongoing ADHD treatment and medication-management appointments are $150 each.

START ADHD EVALUATION + ONGOING CARE

Pathway 2 — ADHD Testing & Evaluation Only

$500 Comprehensive Standalone Diagnostic Evaluation

This pathway is intended for adults who want a comprehensive ADHD diagnostic evaluation but do not plan to establish ongoing treatment with ADHD Philadelphia at the time of the evaluation.

It may be appropriate if your primary goal is:

  • Diagnostic clarification

  • Comprehensive adult ADHD evaluation

  • ADHD testing

  • Diagnostic documentation

  • Having evaluation findings available as part of care provided elsewhere

The evaluation may include:

  • Detailed clinical diagnostic assessment

  • Developmental and childhood history

  • Current ADHD symptoms

  • Functional impairment

  • Executive-function assessment

  • Standardized questionnaires

  • ADHD testing

  • Medical and psychiatric review

  • Differential-diagnosis considerations

  • Relevant records when required

  • Collateral information when clinically appropriate

  • Additional information necessary to reach an appropriate diagnostic conclusion

Total standalone evaluation: $500

Diagnostic documentation is generally completed within 7 days after all required appointments, testing, questionnaires, records, and requested information have been completed and received.

The seven-day period does not necessarily begin after the first appointment.

ADHD Treatment & Medication Management

Patients considering stimulant medication should also review the Medication Management & Stimulant Treatment Policy.

Adult ADHD and Executive Function

Many adults do not initially describe their problem as “ADHD.”

Instead, they may say:

“I know what I need to do, but I cannot get started.”

“I always underestimate how long things will take.”

“I keep forgetting things I was just told.”

“I cannot keep all of my responsibilities organized.”

“I can perform extremely well under pressure but struggle when there is no deadline.”

These experiences may involve executive functions such as:

  • Working memory

  • Time management

  • Task initiation

  • Planning

  • Organization

  • Prioritization

  • Sustained attention

  • Response inhibition

  • Goal-directed persistence

  • Self-monitoring

  • Cognitive flexibility

  • Emotional regulation

Adult ADHD Care for Professionals

ADHD can remain unrecognized in adults who are academically or professionally successful.

Some professionals compensate through:

  • Long work hours

  • Deadline pressure

  • Overpreparation

  • Perfectionism

  • Extensive reminders

  • Multiple calendars

  • Repeated checking

  • Weekend catch-up work

  • Strong support systems

Success does not automatically rule out ADHD.

An important question is often not simply whether you are performing well, but how much effort and compensation are required to maintain that performance.
